The 'Baogel' is a Bagel and Bao Bun Hybrid from NYC's Black Seed Bagels

New York City's Black Seed Bagels and Nom Wah Kaui recently joined forces to introduce the 'Baogel,' a new bread hybrid that draws inspiration from both the bao bun and the bagel. Black Seed Bagels describes: it's a "culinary tale of East meets Eastern Europe."

The Baogel is filled with Nom Wah’s signature sweet pork belly and comes wrapped in Black Seed Bagels' sesame bagel dough that resembles a steamed bao bun. To top it all off, the hybrid is served with a side of house-made chili cream cheese.

Just like an ordinary bagel, the new sandwich-style offering makes a perfect handheld snack for on-the-go eating, except that it does not need to be dressed with any spreads or ingredients for added flavor before eating.
