Beacon-Embracing Stadiums

AT&T Stadium is Using Beacons to Upgrade the Spectator Experience

AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team, is using beacon technology to enhance the stadium experience of their fans. The new beacon features were rolled out for the first time when the Dallas Cowboys placed the San Francisco 49ers in their NFL home opener on September 7.

The technology works in conjunction with a free mobile app to enable fans to simply use their smartphones to be guided to their seats, to concession stands and to the washrooms. Fans can even leverage the technology via their smartphone to post their photos onto a 130-foot LED display screen.

The app can be downloaded onto both iOS and Android devices, and enables fans to feel immersed in the game-day experience rather than looking on as passive spectators.
