The Arco del Tiempo (Arch of Time) has been designed by Berlin-based artist and architect Riccardo Mariano as a stunning piece of public art art will also serve an eco-friendly purpose. The structure is slated to arrive in Houston, Texas in the city's East End in 2024 where it will act as a massive time telling installation for visitors to admire. The structure stands 100-feet in height and will also capture solar energy to the tune of 400,000kWh each year to make it a functional work of art for the community.
The non-profit organization behind the project Land Art Generator commented on the Arco del Tiempo saying, "Beyond its break-even point, which will be tracked and celebrated with the community, the artwork will live as a net-positive contributor to a healthy climate and the planet will be better off for its existence."
