Andrea Myers' sculptures are made with layers upon layers of material. The pieces end up giving way to 3D installations, seen in her chosen mediums of print and painting.
Based in Chicago, Myers has admittedly focused on the way in which her displays are put together and subsequently taken apart, "I feel my work is dependent upon...the relationship between deconstruction and construction, and the inherent malleability and vulnerability of my chosen materials."
She is furthermore preoccupied with the opposite poles of nature and human manufacture. While her installations do mimic the shapes and layouts that one would often find in the outdoors, they are nonetheless her own constructions that have come of her mind and work.
