From Spiraled DNA Homes to Twist-Tie Architecture

From seriously slanting surfaces to curved staircases, these examples of spiral architecture demonstrate how designers are coming up with new ways to keep buildings stylish.

While simple blocked buildings are still being constructed, many architects are attempting to push the boundaries when it comes to design. For example, the Amsterdam Bridge V is full of twist and turns, which is an unlikely addition to an overpass. However, the designers behind this product were looking to produce something out of the ordinary, and even made the bridge equipped with solar powers for energy.

The sweet spot for architecture these days involves a combination of unorthodox shapes with eco-friendly additions. Solar panels and wind power especially is considered a great way to make a building both aesthetically pleasing and healthy for the environment.
