Michael Phelps, the American swimmer and most decorated Olympian of all time, may be in the news for an unsavory reason, but that isn't to say people should stop celebrating his achievements. After all, Michael Phelps still holds one of the most impressive world records to date. This has garnered him quite the avid fan base, which has also led to endorsement deals, magazine covers and more.
Whether that means representing Corn Flakes or Mazda, and appearing on the covers of Sports Illustrated, ESPN and even GQ, Michael Phelps has taken his fame in stride. It is hard being in the public eye as he is, so it is only natural that slip-ups like his recent DUI would land him in the doghouse in more than one way.
