From Remote-Controlled Beetles to Steampunk Bees

This slideshow of cyborg insects and steampunk bugs proves how fascinated we are with remixing nature, especially creepy crawlies. From DARPA-sponsored military spy bugs to immaculate insects created out of scrap materials, I can't decide whether these creations are cool or creepy. Click through the slideshow above to see these cyborg insects and more and make the call for yourself.
Implications - If you ever saw one of these mechanized bugs crawling around or buzzing in the air, you would probably need more than a fly swatter to exterminate them. I suggest keeping your fingers crossed that no mad scientist is tinkering away to make cyborg bugs a reality.
