We have officially entered the dog days of summer, and as a result, the August 2022 men's fashion trends are made up of a unique blend of warm weather collections and fall-ready looks. Bright colors, breezy fits, and beachside shorts have, for the most part, been swapped for more hybrid pieces, such as stylish hiking apparel, lightweight windbreakers, and loose-fit slacks.
Not surprisingly, then, hybrid sneakers and sandals appear as a recurring theme throughout this collection. For example, Luna Sandals released the 'Mono Winged Edition,' a strap-on sandal designed for ultramarathon running. Meanwhile, Reebok hoped on the mule bandwagon to launch the 'Reebok Beatnik Moc,' a hybrid moccasin sneaker that draws inspiration from the brand's original 1994 model, which at the time gained a cult-like appreciation in Japan.
In addition, this month, it appeared that men's fashion further embraced sustainability as several notable brands introduced new circular business models and began implementing upcycling techniques. A definite standout here comes from a collaboration between TRASHMANGRN, Nike, and Billie Eilish, who together released a clothing collection consisting of repurposed 80s-era windbreakers.
