If the thought of having to pose for an annual family photo makes you cringe, just be thankful that you weren’t a part of any of these weird family portraits.

Some great examples of weird family photos include a haunting painting for the Dutch Royal Family and a series by photographer Jaime Diamond that had complete strangers pose as if they were related.

Another very popular trend in photography seems to be family members recreating photos from the past, by dressing in the same style of clothes and even adopting the same facial expressions and poses as in the original shot. As well as bringing on some good memories of the past, it’s a fun way to make then-and-now comparisons.
