Nintendo offered a look at a chaotic new microgame launching soon for mobile devices and tablets, Pictonico!, that turns camera roll photos into silly, rapid-fire games. With this free-to-start title, players can either upload existing photos on their device or start fresh by snapping new ones within the app. From there, Pictonico! challenges players to eat food, summon mythical creatures, protect themselves against monsters, and more. Ultimately, the game will contain up to 80 minigames across downloadable Volumes, with additional packs sold separately.
Since the game is highly personalized and hinges on user photos, Nintendo has stressed that all images and videos remain stored locally on users’ devices, and photo processing happens directly on-device.
