Cubist Wall Builds

LEGO Picasso Build Recreates a Portrait in 1,117 Bricks as Display-Ready Art

This LEGO Picasso build is a fan-designed mosaic that translates cubist portraiture into a structured 1,117-piece brick composition. The design uses angled geometry to recreate fragmented facial features, including circular eye elements with red centers and a simplified white bar nose. Blue tubing forms the hair, contrasting with the rigid grid of bricks while maintaining the visual language of the original artwork.

The build is designed for display, with options to mount it on a wall or rest it on a surface within a grey frame. It also includes a minifigure of Pablo Picasso, positioned beside a small easel holding a printed version of the artwork. Developed as a LEGO Ideas submission, the project is currently gathering support to reach the platform’s 10,000-vote threshold required for official review and potential production.
