Split-Face Family Portraits (UPDATE)

The Genetic Portraits Part II by Ulric Collette are Startling

It is startling to see family members compared in as stark manner as they are in the Genetic Portraits Part II series. Especially mesmerizing are the images that appear only slightly altered, which shows how eerily similar the two subjects really are. For instance, one mother and daughter portrait can probably predict what the younger of the two will look like in the future.

Since going viral earlier last year, the mastermind behind the Genetic Portraits Part II series has been published in magazines all over the world and was even shortlisted in the world's most prestigious advertising awards show, the Cannes Lion. Photographer Ulric Collette has perfected his skill since the first series, saying, "I can control the lighting better so the portraits look more like they are from the same set. [...]I also got a lot better at directing people that I photograph."
