Revived Modular Photo Booths

Frames Booth Elevates Toronto’s Photo Scene with a Modern Approach

Frames Booth brings a contemporary, editorial approach to Toronto’s photobooth scene by merging nostalgic charm with modular, sensory-driven design. The booth was built from scratch by co-founders Johnson Luu and Samantha Huynh, who reimagined the classic photostrip experience through customizable components.

Its modular build allows brands to choose tailored elements, including distinct soundscapes that reinforce identity and subtle signature scents that create a cohesive atmosphere. These layers work alongside custom filters and minimal lighting to transform a simple photo moment into a curated, multisensory vignette. The concept aligns with the global return of photobooths, echoing hotspots from Orchard Street in New York to tucked-away favorites in Paris.

Partnerships across Toronto illustrate the booth’s impact. MAC Cosmetics featured Frames Booth during Lipstick Day at two retail locations, creating a playful physical activation. Ace Hotel incorporated the booth during TIFF’s fiftieth anniversary, attracting notable visitors and collaborating with local brand Ballooms. Creative agency Bynk selected Frames Booth for its five-year celebration, using the installation to reinforce the event’s visual identity. As Toronto’s event culture evolves, Frames Booth stands at the intersection of nostalgia and brand storytelling, shaping IRL moments where photostrips become both souvenirs and cultural artifacts.
