Top 25 Photography Trends in May

There's no question that the convenience and economics of digital photography have left traditional film photography in the dust, but the May 2017 photography trends show that all is not lost in the world of celluloid.

Part of what makes digital photography so appealing is its instantaneity — users can examine their handiwork as soon as the shutter has opened, whereas film typically requires heading to a developer (which is in itself a rare business to find.) Many photography companies are thus offering up instant-developing film with modern pictorial practices in mind.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 9, for instance, spits out square film strips that develop on the spot, like the classic Polaroid pictures of days gone by. The camera also comes with a lens attachment for close-up pictures, letting consumers easily take selfies with it in the same way they would with their smartphones.
