Dual-Sensor Pocket Cameras

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is Tailored for Professionals

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P pocket camera was debuted by the brand during the Cannes Film Festival as a professional-grade piece of hardware that will accommodate for the needs of filmmakers in a decidedly compact way.

The device puts a dual-sensor array in focus that includes a one-inch sensor alongside a 70mm telephoto lens that will enable operators to utilize either one or both at the same time, depending on requirements. The device features a spinning touchscreen that will allow for selfie-style use or as the perfect handset for filmmakers to use for getting the perfect shot.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P pocket camera is expected to start rolling out as soon as June with additional specs on the handset slated to arrive accordingly.

Dual-sensor Compact Imaging
A one-inch sensor paired with a telephoto module creates a single handheld system that could upend traditional multi-camera setups by enabling versatile capture modes in a pocket device.
Pocket Telephoto Integration
The inclusion of a 70mm lens in a palm-sized camera opens avenues for cinematic-depth telephoto shots outside of bulky rigs, altering on-location lens choice economics.
Spinning Touchscreen Ergonomics
A rotating display that supports both selfie and operator-facing orientations introduces new single-operator workflows and interface paradigms for professional capture.

Sectors Adopting This

Film Production
Compact professional cameras allow smaller crews to achieve cinematic results, potentially shifting budgeting and logistics for indie and location-driven productions.
Consumer Electronics
Miniaturized dual-sensor systems create product differentiation opportunities by merging pro-level imaging capabilities into mass-market handheld devices.
Content Creation Platforms
Platforms that host short-form and long-form video could see a rise in higher-quality user-generated content as portable pro-grade cameras lower the barrier to cinematic storytelling.
