The Godox C100 is a compact camera that replaces a conventional preview display with a transparent LCD viewfinder for composing photos and videos directly against the surrounding environment. The 65 g device features a two-part design with the camera positioned behind the transparent screen and controls housed in the lower grip section.
The camera also incorporates automatic metering that measures the brightness of the central scene to determine appropriate exposure settings while displaying shooting information, battery status and frame details on the transparent panel.
The camera supports four aspect ratios for different shooting styles. The device stores content on microSD cards up to 128 GB and transfers files through a USB-C connection, which also recharges the integrated battery. The battery provides up to 1.5 hours of operation per charge.

Key Themes Behind This Trend
- Transparent Viewfinders
- Transparent LCD composition creates room for cameras that blend digital overlays with real-world framing in more intuitive, lightweight shooting formats.
- Ambient Capture Devices
- Compact hardware designed around environmental visibility signals opportunities for social, travel and creator tools that make image capture feel less screen-bound.
- Minimalist Creator Gear
- Small-format cameras with simplified controls and essential storage features reflect demand for portable content tools that sit between smartphones and professional equipment.
Where This Applies
- Consumer Electronics
- Device makers can differentiate compact imaging products through novel display architectures that reshape how users preview, frame and understand captured scenes.
- Digital Imaging
- Camera brands are positioned to explore transparent interface systems that merge exposure data, composition guides and live surroundings into a single viewing experience.
- Creator Economy
- Content production platforms and accessory ecosystems may benefit from pocketable cameras that support casual video workflows, distinctive shooting styles and rapid file transfer.
