Pop-On Digital Camera Accessories

The Ligar from Escura Pops Onto Film Cameras

The 'Ligar' is a pop-on digital camera module from Hong Kong brand Escura that attaches via a film camera's hot shoe, featuring a 12MP sensor and the ability to record 1440x1440/30fps video triggered by the film shutter.

Designed to duplicate the analog frame, it captures a still and a short video clip simultaneously, and can also operate as a standalone compact camera with its own viewfinder and controls. The unit weighs 40 g, has a 3.2mm f/2.8 wide-angle lens with 17-mm filter thread, stores files on Micro SD and offers roughly one hour of continuous video or about 200 photos per charge. The Ligar includes five decade-themed 'Time Capsule' color filters to emulate vintage film looks, and is positioned as a backup for analog shooters and a way to document the creative process while preserving film originals.
