Paul Newman, who passed away this week at 83, was actively involved with charities, right until his passing. Perhaps Paul Newman was best known for his salad dressings, Newman’s Own, on which sketches of his own face appeared; ALL post-tax profits from these products went to charity. Paul Newman was “an Academy Award winning and seven time Academy Award nominated American actor, film director, entrepreneur, humanitarian and auto racing enthusiast” according to Wikipedia. By May 2007, his biggest contribution to society was the US $220 million he raised from his Newman’s Own brand.
