Julien’s Auctions of Beverly Hills auctioned off furnishings, art, and memorabilia from the collection of rock ‘n’ roll royalty Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. The two-day event was held at Gibson Guitar Showroom, Beverly Hills, CA, on Friday and Saturday, November 30th and December 1st. Although the total amount raised has not been officially released, estimates calculate sales of over $800,000.
More than 500 lots of memorabilia, jewelry, costumes, paintings, furniture and
decorative works of art from the Osbourne’s Gothic style home in Beverly Hills, their
Shabby Chic Malibu home and their Buckinghamshire mansion in England were sold with a portion of the proceeds being donated to benefit The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which was founded by Sharon to improve the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones.
Sharon was 17 when she first met Ozzy. They were married on July 4th, 1982 and their
tour bus was often a nursery for their three children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack. As a solo
artist, Ozzy has sold over 27 million albums in the US and 50 million worldwide. Two of his
albums, “Blizzard of Ozz” (1980) and “No More Tears (1991) are certified quadrupleplatinum,
for sales of over 4 million copies in the US. On March 5th, 2002 the Emmy
Award winning American reality show The Osbournes premiered on March 5th, 2002
and became the most-viewed series on MTV further securing the family’s place in pop
culture history. Sharon is currently enjoying tremendous success with X-Factor in the U.K.
and America’s Got Talent in the U.S., while Ozzy continues to headline Ozzfest and
perform in front of sell-out crowds worldwide. Kelly is currently starring with rave reviews
in London’s West End as Mama Morton in Chicago and also has a new radio show on
BBC1. Jack is filming his second season of Extreme Sports.
