A bangle of hope is a new addition to Nelson Mandela’s innovative 46664 HIV/Aids campaign. These classy bracelets were launched by Montblanc and the Mandela Foundation from South Africa.

Nelson Mandela’s Robben Island prison number, 46664, has become an international symbol in the fight against the HIV pandemic, and is set to take on a whole new dimension. Already close to 8,000 46664 Bangles have been sold throughout the world and several South Africans have pre-booked their orders.

The bangles were created from African metals by craftsman affected by HIV in order to celebrate Mandela’s 90th birthday.

This is an interesting concept, fusing jail numbers and luxury, Mandela’s social justice and Montblanc’s sophisticated glamour.
