In launching 'YouTube Gaming', Google asks customers to "Join in and level up." YouTube gaming now joins Amazon-owned Twitch, as the two sites compete in the video game streaming market.
Through YouTube Gaming, viewers will be able to see who's streaming, start their own live stream, and find specific content that directly relates to their favorite video games. An accompanying app is available for Android smartphones and tablets in the US and UK for now.
YouTube Gaming represents the third entertainment category that YouTube has created, following in the footsteps of the YouTube Music Key and the YouTube Kids app. With the addition of YouTube Gaming, expect already popular sectors like streaming video game tournaments as well as video game talk shows to continue to grow.
