'Facebook Gaming' Will Allow Viewers to Play with Streamers

'Facebook' is releasing a feature to make 'Facebook Gaming' a more interactive game streaming service. Facebook is naming this feature 'Play with Streamer' and it will allow viewers to have a direct link on the stream screen to join the streamer's game. The demonstration by Facebook shows this feature being free for viewers to use, though streamers do have the option to monetize this feature. Streamers have the ability to lock this feature behind subscribers or subscriber tiers, and can also choose to disable this feature entirely.

Facebook Gaming is releasing this to increase the popularity of its streaming platform to compete more closely with 'Twitch' and 'YouTube,' which are currently the largest video game streaming platforms. Facebook Gaming has also been buying streamers and personalities off of other platforms to increase its commercial attractiveness.
