Cooperative Stream Viewing Features

'Twitch' Now Features Support for SharePlay on Apple Devices

Twitch, the largest live-streaming video service on the internet, has released a new integration that provides viewers with cooperative stream viewing features. Apple mobile devices, such as iPhones and iPads, have a feature called 'SharePlay' that allows users to call each other via FaceTime while watching the same piece of media. Now, Twitch supports this feature, meaning Apple users can enjoy live streams simultaneously with their friends.

SharePlay for Twitch offers full integration with Twitch features. This means any SharePlay viewer can comment on the stream, donate, subscribe, or even move to a different stream. This does mean, though, that each participant in a SharePlay call must also be logged in to Twitch on their own account. Additionally, SharePlay will ensure that each Twitch viewer is at the same point in the stream, so if one person in the call rewinds the stream, this will happen for everyone, which makes for an excellent cooperative viewing experience.
