Deoco, a Japanese women's beauty product company, has allegedly created a "young woman smell" deodorant. The line has become widely popular in Japan for both young and older women.
The discovery was determined through a study by Rohto Pharmaceutical that involved 500 women of varying ages. Scientists discovered a "sweet aroma" that was detectable on the younger women's clothing. Researchers were able to successfully isolate the two fragrant chemical compounds found in high quantities in young women. The compounds, Lactone C10 and C11, were found in significantly lower quantities in older women. After the discovery, Deoco was able to use those isolated compounds to create a line of body soaps and deodorants.
