The Wright Spirit by Wright Electric is an electric aircraft that was created to provide shorter flights, about one-hour in length for 100 passengers at a time. This electric aircraft created for regional trips boasts a design that was based on the Bae 146 platform.
The aircraft is capable of producing reduced emissions and it has a lightweight design that relieves some of the overall weight. Wright Electric will be testing a 1:3 ratio of electric to conventional engines, with the aim of working towards being fully electric by 2026. Potentially, this aircraft has the potential to service heavily travelled areas like London to Paris and New York to Washington in a more sustainable way.
