The Valo eVTOL Aircraft Enters Advanced Air Mobility Plans

The Valo eVTOL aircraft from Vertical Aerospace is a piloted, electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle designed to support advanced urban air mobility with zero operating emissions and a targeted range of up to 100 miles at speeds of around 150 mph. Valo’s design integrates eight electric motors paired with an under-floor battery system and aerodynamic airframe to achieve quiet performance while meeting stringent airliner-level safety standards targeted for certification in 2028.

Valo’s cabin accommodates up to four passengers initially, with flexibility for six-seat configurations and panoramic windows that enhance comfort and visibility. The aircraft’s structure emphasizes redundancy, with isolated power lanes across multiple electric propulsion units to maintain reliability.

Early commercial interest includes agreements with operators such as Héli Air Monaco, which intends to deploy Valo for regional routes along the French Riviera. American CFO Derek Kerr notes, “Emerging technologies are critical in the race to reduce carbon emissions and we are excited to partner with Vertical to develop the next generation of electric aircraft."
