Vertical Aerospace Valo is an Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft
References: yankodesign
The Aerospace Valo is an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft unveiled by British aerospace developer Vertical Aerospace with plans for urban air taxi service upon regulatory approval. The eVTOL design follows from the earlier VX4 prototype and introduces a more aerodynamic airframe, under-floor battery system, and upgraded materials to meet airliner-level safety standards. Valo is designed to fly up to one hundred miles at speeds of up to one hundred fifty miles per hour with zero operating emissions. The aircraft initially will include a cabin with seating for four passengers and panoramic windows, with capacity expandable to six passengers in later variants.
The aircraft’s payload design accommodates up to six cabin bags and six checked bags to support airport-city transfers. Valo’s flight control system and structure provide the redundancy required for certification targeted in 2028. Production plans include building multiple certification aircraft in the United Kingdom to support final testing before entry into commercial service.
