Currency-Augmenting Apps

KFC's Wow @ 25 Augmented Reality App Shows What Dollar Bills Can Buy

To dispel the notion that KFC in India is expensive, the Blink agency in Mumbai created the ‘Wow @ 25’ augmented reality app.

The app promotes KFC’s Wow Price Menu, which starts at 25 rupees. To use the Wow @ 25 app, users can scan any Indian bank note, which would transform the rectangular bill into a tray, topped with all of the items that they could purchase from the Wow Menu with that particular note value.

As well as being available for download on the Apple iTunes store and through Google Play store, there was also a version of this experience recreated on a micro site. The apps were downloaded over 35,000 times and truly wowed people with its clever use of augmented reality.
