Wood-Flavored Ice Cream

Justin Davies Shared a Viral Food Experiment with Smoked Cedar Chocolate

On Instagram, Justin Davies describes himself as "that tree guy here to talk about trees and make stuff out of trees," and one viral video shares an experiment in making wood-flavored ice cream.

After chopping, toasting, infusing, and straining wood chunks to form the ice cream base, Davies used a cold smoker to add cedar smoke to chocolate. Beyond food, the adventure in making unconventionally flavored ice cream also called Davies to craft items like a bowl and a spoon from Western Redcedar wood.

On the Instagram Reel that has received over 15.5 million views, Davies shared: "No I will not stop making tree flavored ice cream, yes those chocolate molds nearly broke me, yes this ice cream slapped.”
