OnlyEg by Singapore-based Float Foods is a first-of-its-kind plant-based whole egg replacement in the Asian market, as it uses legumes-based proteins to substitute both the egg yolk and white. The egg-like substitute can be used to quickly recreate classic egg-based dishes, especially ones like sunny-side-up eggs that require both parts of the egg for presentation.
With the cruelty-free, vegan-friendly alternative, Float Foods recognizes the importance of eggs in Asian cuisine and offers a more sustainable option—especially as 65% of the world’s chicken eggs are currently produced in Asia and Singaporeans consume approximately two billion eggs annually.
According to Float Foods, the whole egg replacement will be commercially available by 2022. In the future, Float Foods has its eye on developing everything from vegan yogurt and cheese to milk.
