Henning Larsen's Wavy Buildings Offer a Strong Presence

This wavy building complex took 11 years to complete after the 2008 global financial crisis put a halt to its construction. The housing development is a testimony to Henning Larsen who passed away in June 2013, two years before the project was resumed.

It is located in Vejle, Jutland. It features five distinct housing volumes and its almost roller coaster-like aesthetic provides a prominent visual point of interest. Each of the wave-like buildings has nine floors, with a spacious "double-height penthouse apartment" at the top.

Henning Larsen's design is hoped to revive public engagement in the town's waterfront. Conceptualized as "an engine of revitalization -- a magnet for activity and community," it is hard to imagine how a stylish and new wavy building complex won't have an impact.
