The Volatile 1 Sculpture may look like one big three dimensional doodle, but there is much more to it than a random scribble of lines. It represents and explores the idea of motion. More specifically, it digs into the expressive possibilities of the travelling line. The loose and fast form also suggests a level of unpredictability that is layered with the sense of movement.
Created by Janos Korban and Stefanie Flaubert of KORBAN/FLAUBERT, a studio based in Sydney, Australia, the Volatile 1 Sculpture is part of their Volatile Series. The canary yellow creation is made out of metal. When viewed in person, the shape shifts as visitors walk around it, giving it a more dynamic quality.
