Chicago's Video Game Art Gallery opens its doors to the city's eclectic group of lively gamers with the goal to increase education of video games and broaden cultural appreciation through the exhibitions, critiques, and media sales.
It hosts programs every year and it all features work done by game developers and artists from throughout the globe with events and exhibitions. The series of educational programs are done with screenings, topic talks, and student programs. The gallery also features its own fine art print collection, which is comprised of artwork posters capturing video games and giclees. The not-for-profit organization also includes a 'VGA Reader,' which is a peer-reviewed journal that centers around new media art and video game scholarships.
