Fresh from releasing the 'Sub Dog' products in South Korea, 'Subway' has debuted its newest vegan bacon hot dog sub sandwich in the UK. This sandwich is named the 'Plants in Blanket' (P.I.B), which is a play on the popular pork-based 'Pigs in Blanket' dish in the UK. Following the trend of the Pigs in Blanket, the Subway P.I.B will have a plant-based sausage on a Subway sandwich bun wrapped in vegan bacon.
The P.I.B will diversify the array of vegan options at Subway, which previously contained vegan chicken, meat, and snack products. The P.I.B will be customizable as per a regular Subway sandwich, and staff will be knowledgeable on which sauces and toppings on the Subway menu are vegan-friendly. The P.I.B will be available at participating locations across the United Kingdom during the holidays until December 28th, 2021.
