PLUG A SEAT is a project by Teratoma productions that creates temporary urban seating to give new meaning to everyday objects.
Bustling downtown areas are filled with objects like bollards that are passed and ignored on a daily basis. In attempt to help downtown citizens re-think these objects, the design firm has created a series of removable "caps" for the bollards that transforms them into urban furniture. The caps come in vibrant hues and can be placed on posts, temporarily altering the objects into something useful and welcoming.
The caps include both tables and chairs, providing citizens with a place to momentarily unwind, or gather their bearings before continuing on their way. This project cleverly creates more urban seating, without damaging city property or breaking by-laws.
