The Tweets for Change campaign hopes to feed a million people for the holidays. As one in six Americans are hungry, two college students felt compelled to make a difference.
Capitalizing on the recognition many young people are seeking via social media, Tweets for Change asks you to donate to the campaign in order to get tagged on Twitter and have your handle posted on the initiative's Leaderboard page. You then pass the challenge along to 3 of your Twitter friends. If you cannot give financially, you can also be listed on their website as an official supporter.
While the social project may not guarantee Twitter fame, it will hopefully make a difference in the lives of many. It certainly plays on the wish many people have to accrue a social media following and to create the appearance they are philanthropic and socially conscious.
