Partially Filled Wine Bottles

Tomorrow's Vintage Shows the Need to Protect Wine-Growing Regions

Boutique Australian winery Ampersand Estates teamed up with Wildlife Land Trust to create Tomorrow's Vintage, a first-of-its-kind wine that's paired with an official Conservation Agreement. These wine bottles can be scanned and they invite people to sign the agreement to protect the land against environmentally harmful activities. This action supports wildlife and local ecosystems, and in turn, Australia’s wine-growing regions.

There are 2040, 2080, and 2100 bottles of Tomorrow’s Vintage Shiraz that come partially filled to represent future projections. The 2040 bottle, for example, is 86% full because just 86% of wine-growing regions are projected to be usable by that year. Grimly, the 2100 bottle is just 44% full, signifying the need for action to be taken. “This is our way of saying the glass is still half full,” says Melissa Bell, Ampersand Estates co-founder.
