Fran Silvestre Arquitectos created 'PETRA. The Stone Atelier,' an exhibition center in Valencia, Spain. The space acts as a museum with stones from around the world, an office space, a showroom and a multi-use exhibition center. Everything in the building is stark white with marble details, other than the contrasting personalized circular furniture.
The space was made to seem as though it is empty, with hidden semiprecious stones throughout. By using natural lighting through skylights all over the building mixed with artificial lighting, the designers achieved an atmosphere that helps visitors read the geometry of the room. The Stone Atelier seems like a minimal space with hidden gems waiting to be found.
