The Kansas City Chiefs Stadium by Manica Features a Transparent Dome

The Kansas City Chiefs stadium is a proposed 70,000-seat NFL venue designed by US studio Manica to replace the team's longstanding Arrowhead Stadium. Scheduled to open in 2031, the fully enclosed stadium will be covered by a transparent ETFE roof spanning approximately 37,000 square metres, allowing natural light while maintaining visibility for military flyovers. The design draws inspiration from Arrowhead Stadium by preserving key architectural elements and shaping the bowl to amplify crowd noise.

Estimated to cost $3 billion, the stadium will remain outside Kansas City and be surrounded by parking areas specifically designed to support the team's tailgating tradition. Features including the signature drum deck and a roll of honour around the upper seating bowl reference the original venue while introducing modern infrastructure.
