Tiled Flagship Stores

Urban Revivo Beijing Flagship is a Dynamic Captivating Retail Store

The new Urban Revivo Beijing Flagship is a retail store designed by MVRDV in Beijing's Sanlitun shopping district. The 4,120-square-metre space is distinguished by a sculptural facade composed of suspended aluminum tiles and tubes inspired by the traditional roof tiles of Beijing. Circular openings referencing Chinese moon gates create entrances and display windows, while a dichroic blue finish shifts between blue and purple depending on the viewing angle. The design blends local architectural references with a contemporary retail identity.

The four-level interior evolves through a series of changing spatial experiences, transitioning from traditional moon gate openings to more modern geometric forms. Grey brick surfaces reference Beijing's historic Hutong neighborhoods, while each floor adopts a distinct material palette tailored to different shopping environments. Six dedicated display spaces, known as Bold Rooms, showcase special collections through immersive installations featuring upholstered walls, recycled materials, reflective finishes, fabric curtains, and glass display cases.
