Interior design studio Linehouse renovates a building in Shanghai to replenish a workspace for the global marketing group The Independents. The defining feature of the new design is that many materials and art are collected from a local gallery.
The space measures 274 square meters and is meant to function as a communal area for the staff who work on the floors above. It is made up of a reception space, pantry, meeting rooms, and communal eating area. Linehouse speaks about the design project, noting "The support of the client to design an office that pairs unexpected combinations of materials was refreshing and a challenge. The result is a space that allows art to breathe and creates a welcoming, natural and open place of work."
