Claygate House was built using a Structure Insulated Panels system, which helped accelerate the construction process. Alexander Martin Architects, a London-based company, based the home's design on a modern, stripped-back interpretation of the mentioned design movement. The goal was to "redefine the aspirations for suburban architecture" through a minimalist exterior design. The house is structured as two individual gabled forms. On the inside, the structures are connected by an exposed metal staircase that sits in the center of the house.
