The Town of Innisfil is a community that's full of cottages and rural farmland in Ontario, but it is looking to reenvision itself as the city of the future with The Orbit: Innisfil. A master plan for the cutting-edge community was developed by PARTISANS and create a new way to grow and unite the current population of around 36,600 people to an innovative new city of up to 150,000 people.
The vision is designed to enhance the small town and rural lifestyles with the benefits of urban living, all the while supporting the community's natural landscapes, habitats and buildings of historical significance. As its name suggests, The Orbit introduces a plan that radiates out in concentric circles that eventually become "squircles," offering a new concept for urban and rural living that's full of streets and accessible green spaces.
