Researchers from German automaker Audi are now celebrating the success of creating a synthetic fuel by the name of 'e-benzin.' This new fuel is made without any petroleum, but it ca be used in the same way without resulting in harmful sulfur and hydrocarbon emissions.
The high-grade synthetic e-benzin will be best in cars with high performance and efficiency, mainly because these cars have engines that run a high compression ratio.
One big drawback to the syntheric fuel is that it cannot be produced without biomass, although Audi is working in partnership with Global Bioenergies to allow for fuel production with only water, hydrogen, CO2 and sunlight. Even so, e-benzin can be added to a traditional fossil fuel to reduce its effects on the environment.
