Audi Has Outfitted a Vintage 'NSU Prinz 4' With An Electric Motor

German automaker Audi has unveiled a futuristic and electrically powered version of the 'NSU Prinz 4' a saloon car that is one of the most iconic automobiles to emerge out of the country due to its instantly recognizable aesthetics and two-door entry.
Launched in order to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Audi's Neckarsulm manufacturing facility, the 'EP4,' with the 'E' denoting the vehicle's new electric avatar, is equipped with an electric motor derived from Audi's e-tron category and with the capability of producing 240 horsepower. This motor serves as an eco-friendly substitute for the vintage car's original 30-horsepower gas engine. Elsewhere, the vehicle is equipped with a plug-in hybrid and air-cooled battery pack.
Created as a special design project rather than with an intention to serve as a new consumer vehicle, this reimagined saloon car is a fine example of how modern electric drivetrains can be combined with vintage automotive design.
