The Swingrest by Daniel Pouzet is like a giant basket that has had its top half sheared off to form a contemporary hanging bed. It is one of the first products to emerge from Dedon Island resort, the company's Outdoor Living Lab in Siargao, The Philippines. The Paris-based designer, who is also the co-architect and designer of Dedon Island, was inspired by the extra-high ceilings of the resort’s villas when creating this furniture piece.
As spacious as the setting it is placed in, the Swingrest by Daniel Pouzet is a simple concept that does not compromise its cozy purpose. The suspension system, rotating Corian tabletop and specially-created cord add a sense of sophistication. It is available in a natural colored weave.
