The Swing Seat by Joe Parr is inspired by swings on a playground fused with the functions of a rocking chair through a modern look. Joe Parr explains that “The resulting dual action of this mechanism creates a back-and-forth gliding sensation, like a swing in motion [...] When I discovered how motion added excitement to the experience for the sitter, I began to understand the power of the mind and body connection.”
It is meant to bring a nostalgic feel to adults, creating a seating experience that also allows them to feel alert as well. It is made from a belt metal pipe frame along with a rocking base. It is then complete with hammock-style seating on both sides of the frame that is made from leather.
