Because water and technology do not mix most of the time, tracking swim activity is one thing that many wearable fitness devices miss out on. LedSwim is a startup that aims to change this with the introduction of a NFC wristband that can measure personal performance and training sessions in the pool.
The idea is that a swimmer would have access to this wearable tech from a participating activity center. To get started, users would be required to download an app and plug in their swimming goals, such as the number of lengths they would like to complete in a set amount of time. Then, they are able to tap their wristband against a station at the poolside, which will direct them to a lane with lights that serve as pacemakers.
Tools like this smart swimming bracelet will further enable consumers to take control over the monitoring and management of their own health.
