Retro Surreal Collages (UPDATE)

Eugenia Loli Combines Vintage Magazines and Science Publications

The surreal collages of Eugeinia Loli are something out of this world. In most cases, they incorporate a bit of that supernatural feeling thanks to the use of images from science publications. Combining those with scans of vintage magazines, the surreal collages create a world full of the impossible. Yet its retro appearance makes people believe that the scenes are possible.

Born in Greece and based in California, the artist has enjoyed a life that is as mish-mash as her surreal collages. Nevertheless, her foray into this art form is fairly new. Loli was working as a technology journalist up until she began creating her surreal collages back in 2013. No wonder there is a scientific aspect to her work.
