This Theme Park is Equipping Its Superman-Themed Coasters with VR Headsets

A number of Six Flags locations recently equipped their Superman-themed coasters with VR headsets to give riders a whole new amusement park experience. Instead of simply travelling through the sky like the famous superhero, riders can now immerse themselves in the caped crusader's fictional world.
The 'SUPERMAN: The Ride Virtual Reality Coaster' is a high-tech attraction that uses VR technology to bring the fictional world of Superman to life. Thanks to a partnership with Samsung Gear VR and Oculus, individuals who ride the new attraction will receive a wireless VR headset to wear on the coaster. The headset will immerse viewers in a virtual world complete with 360 degree images that are synced to the movements of the coaster. Together, the coaster and the VR imagery allows riders to feel as though they really visiting the comic book world of Metropolis.
With Superman-themed coasters already added to three Six Flags locations, there is clear demand for VR experiences that allow users to immerse themselves in their favorite fantasy worlds.
